KENDRA ZELNER has three brothers: Noah, an
eight-year old she's determined to protect; Robert, who
is trying to kill her; and Joel, who doesn't know she
exists--yet.
With a distrust of cops anchored in her recent past
and only one month until she inherits her trust fund,
Kendra escapes New York with Noah to save their lives
and heads for Joel's ranch in Colorado. Nearing their
destination but out of cash, she's driven to a new low.
If she'd looked at the driver's license before taking
the wallet, she may have heeded an omen like the last

COLTON LAWE is Joel Morgan's ranch manager. When the
woman who stole his wallet shows up at the ranch and
announces she's Joel's sister, Colton suspects she's
running a scam. To protect his employer and friend, he
silently vows to expose the little thief. But the only
unscrupulous thing he uncovers is Robert's intention to
claim Kendra's inheritance after she 'accidentally'
falls off a cliff. During her rescue, Colton realizes
Kendra's stolen more than just his wallet...she's stolen
his heart.
Guilt-ridden over his father's car accident eight
years ago, Colton doesn't believe he deserves the kind
of love his mother lost--until Kendra proposes marriage.
